Students may get break

The government might encourage universities to explore a flexible status for students who intend to suspend or temporarily quit their studies to build a career, a senior official of the Ministry of Education said yesterday.

"We should think about the possibility of a deeper cooperation between higher education and industries in the wave of the global economic downturn," said Wu Aihua, deputy director of science and engineering education division under the Ministry of Education.
