Maritime specialist riding import surge

With Venezuela's imports continuing to rise - they reached a value of about $47 billion last year - the South American nation has seen increased ship traffic at its ports.

Amid the surge, Venezolana de Control Intermodal (Veconinter) has experienced greater demand for its specialist services.

Among the company's activities is collection of demurrage, the penalty or fee levied on importers that use a container for more than the allotted time.
