Detached observers of the world

Now-Future, the latest exhibition shows the works of contemporary artists, born in the 1970s and 80s. Luo Tiantian, an only-child generation artist, tries to present a perfect and idolized image of "self". Her paintings examine the reality and responsibilities of the only-child generation. Xia Hang displays sculptures for "play", as each one can be assembled and disassembled, and new images are continually generated or transformed to form a magical world. Hu Hua's "funny" works of art are characterized by richly loaded symbols and cold colors of black, white and gray. They evoke a grave, rational and apathetic world where the artist remains a detached observer.
