One more official arrested

A high-profile person related to the Shanghai building collapsed on June 27 has been arrested, said Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng yesterday. Que Jingde, assistant to a township governor in the district, has been arrested for alleged involvement in graft. In briefing the city's legislators about the city's development in the first six months, Han described the collapse as a major accident that is rarely seen in Shanghai and all responsible must be punished. Thirteen individuals - leaders and executives of the developer, construction company, supervisor and digging company - have been arrested or held for investigation. Several of them worked for the local township government.
