Illegal weapons

Police in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, have detained some 152 suspects involved in illegally making and selling weapons since May, local public security bureau said yesterday.

The number of cases of illegal manufacturing and sales of weapons in the city last month was down by 38 percent from June, thanks to a recent campaign to ensure public safety before the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games.
