City goes dark after thieves damage electric tower
More than 160,000 residents of Shanwei, Guangdong province, were without electricity for 20 hours starting last Tuesday evening, after thieves damaged an electric tower trying to steal steel bars.
The blackout occurred at 8:17 pm last Tuesday, leaving more than 42,000 homes in the city's Jiesheng township in the dark.
