Join the chorus line
Chorus is a relatively popular form of classical music compared with symphony concerts or opera. From today, six professional choirs from Russia, The Philippines, Britain, Hong Kong and Chinese mainland will give seven concerts at the National Center for the Performing Arts.
Kicking off the serial will be the Chamber Choir of the Moscow Conservatory, who will perform on the weekend. The renowned Russian conductor Valeriy Gergiev praises the choir as "one of the most professional and successful choir ensembles in Russia." Under the baton of its founder and director Boris Tevlin, the choir will sing not only Russian classical and folk songs, but rearrangements of Piazzolla's tango and Chinese folk songs.
In the following week, Diocesan Boy's School Choir from Hong Kong, Tian Kong Women's Chorus from Shanghai, UE Chorale from Philippines and Voice 8 from Britain will also perform.
