Tragedy on 'loving heart crossing'

Another tragedy caused by a speeding driver occurred in Hangzhou. In May, Hu Bin, a young man from a rich family, struck and killed Tan Zhuo, a young university graduate, while speeding in his Mitsubishi sport car. To prevent similar incidents from re-occurring, the traffic police painted "loving heart zebra crossings" on major streets in Hangzhou as a reminder of caution to drivers.

The paintings, however, have proved futile. On Tuesday, an almost identical, if not worst, tragedy smashed all hope of improved driving. A Porsche Cayenne SUV driven by a drunken driver killed Ma Fangfang, a 16-year-old girl, on one of the crossings with the painted heart.
