Junior camp continues to grow

By Yu Yilei | China Daily | Updated: 2009-08-06 08:09

China has extended an annual free golf clinic, which is open to all youths, in order to cultivate more golf talents.

As announced by Chinese Golf Association (CGA) yesterday, two more stops will be added to the original seven-stop program of the HSBC China Junior Golf Summer Clinic this year. About 2,300 youngsters are expected to participate this time around, almost twice the figure of last year.

The CFA funds the whole clinic, including the hiring of overseas coaches and also provides handbooks on learning basic golf skills. Chinese aged between six to 18 are welcome to participate in the clinic, however, the organizers said they are only able to take a maximum of 500 at each stop due to limited resources.
