Jobless rate dips

Beijing's urban unemployment rate decreased to 1.82 percent in the first six months of the year, a drop of 0.07 percent, following a series of job creation measures to combat the economic crisis, according to a press conference yesterday.

The college graduate employment rate reached 89 percent in June, after 15 favorable policies were implemented, said Song Fengjing, deputy director of Beijing's human resources and social security bureau.
