Merchants released

The 190 Chinese merchants detained by Moscow police last month for certificate problems have all been released after fines were paid, the website of the Foreign Ministry said yesterday.

Russian police abruptly shut down Moscow's Cherkizovsky market on June 29 after the disclosure of various illegal and irregular operations there. The market used to involve nearly 60,000 Chinese and the move caused a huge loss of Chinese capital.
