When it's summer, can music festivals be far behind? This is the time diehard fans of music travel from one venue to another across the country to catch their favorite stars in action.
Gathering together nearly 100 artists from the mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong, the next four weekends, till August 31, promise an unabashed celebration of all things musical. The offerings will cover a range of genres - from alternative rock, hip hop and punk rock to folk and reggae.
When rock-and-roll burst outdoors in the early 1990s with the Midi music festival, it led to more music labels trying to get their artists on stage rather than simply selling songs through CDs or online.
