Sexy Hu mulls buzz as Super Li runs for cover
The authoritative and sexy Hu Die, 26, has been voted "Most Beautiful CCTV Presenter" in an online vote. The 26 year old with a short and "fashionable" haircut has been called a copycat of actress Fan Bingbing, but obviously this is no bad thing.
She appears to have emerged stronger than ever from what was termed "Plastic Surgery Gate", soon after moving from BTV to CCTV. Basically, the "human flesh-search engine" of netizens with too much time on their hands found before-and-after pictures of the Asia Today anchor to point out that she must have had plastic surgery.
As in the United States and other mostly English-speaking countries, China follows the now established trend of adding "gate" as a suffix to describe an unresolved scandal. For example, Watergate, Stupidgate and Camillagate. In Chinese, of course, it is a door/gate character (门) that is added. When actor Li Yapeng was involved in an automobile accident that led to the death of a businessman, for instance, it was said to be "Car Crash Gate".
