Opposition wins vote
Moldova's pro-Western parties scrambled to forge a governing alliance yesterday after a parliamentary election praised by international monitors for its fairness. Near final results put four center-right opposition parties ahead of the Communist Party, which has ruled the former Soviet republic since 2001.
