Circus in town
Construction of Beijing's first circus-themed entertainment center, Global City, started on Sunday. Located in Fengtai district, Global City has nine themed areas and covers 1,500 acres. Circus shows here will combine music, dance, opera, martial arts, acrobatics and magic, says Jin Yunjiang, director of the International Circus Town at Global City.
Jin says Global City is designed in an environment-friendly way with rainwater recycling system. Costing 10 billion yuan ($1.46 billion), the development is expected to provide some 5,000 jobs in construction, performing arts and other areas.
