Gaining a global outlook

Feng Jia, a graduate student majoring in journalism from Nanjing University, works at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, a place she has dreamed of for years.

Feng is one of 200 graduates picked, after fierce competition among some 5,000 applicants worldwide, for internship opportunities at the UN. For two months, Feng will work at the Department of Public Information Secretariat.

Feng has always been curious about the global organization's daily operations and the process of detailing an agenda. She believes working in such an international environment will broaden her horizon and help her understand different cultures.
