124 migrants rescued

At least 124 Haitian migrants were rescued by yesterday after their boat capsized and sank off the Turks and Caicos islands, according to the US Coast Guard which has crews helping with the rescue attempt.

Rescuers in small boats and helicopters plucked 124 survivors from the reefs and recovered two bodies after the shipwreck on Monday, Coast Guard spokesman Barry Bena said. An estimated 160 to 200 people were on board the vessel when it capsized.
