Militants kill 4 policemen

A security official says gunmen have killed four policemen in Yemen's turbulent province of Abyan. He says the attack took place early yesterday when gunmen fired a rocket at a police checkpoint. Southern Yemen has seen a wave of anti-government protests recently coupled with a rise in separatist sentiments.

South and North Yemen merged in 1990 but southerners complain they are marginalized.
