Woman arrested for duping lonely retired man
A woman who pretended to be a business executive to dupe a retired engineer of more than 968,000 yuan ($141,614) was recently detained in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province.
The woman "borrowed" the large sum of money from the 70-year-old engineer on 11 separate occasions after grabbing his attention via a "lonely hearts" advertisement late last year.
