Afghan push a concern
Islamabad officials told visiting US envoy Richard Holbrooke this week that a U.S.-led offensive in neighboring southern Afghanistan could send Taliban fighters across the border. A senior Pakistani intelligence official said Islamabad has "reservations" about the offensive because militants crossing the border could destabilize Pakistan's province of Baluchistan, which for years has been facing a separate low-level insurgency by nationalist groups seeking more autonomy.
