Ocean products rise

China's gross ocean product topped 1.38 trillion yuan ($202 billion) in the first half of the year, according to an initial assessment by the State Oceanic Administration.

The figure represented an increase of 6.9 percent over the same period last year, and accounted for 9.9 percent of the country's gross domestic product, association vice-director Wang Hong said yesterday at the opening of the first China Ocean Forum in Zhuhai, Guangdong province.
