GUANGZHOU: Visitors to the site of the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou may notice its ideal location for a future home; after all, seven large-scale buildings for the 16th annual event will be built at the foot of the Lianhua Mountain in the city's southern Panyu district and a new metro line will connect the games to the city's downtown area.

The Games' organizing committee, however, is way ahead of any thoughts on how to use the area after the three-week event.

"The town will be developed into a large residential and commercial area after the Games," said Xu Ruisheng, executive deputy secretary general of the Games' organizing committee.
