Xinjiang incident in an American's eyes

The recent unfortunate events in Xinjiang had caught my attention. With sorrow and disbelief, I feel obliged morally to speak up for the facts as they appear to the eyes of an American citizen.

Who, in a normal state of mind, would not be affected by such events, anywhere in the world?
