Tevez criticizes Fergie for not persuading him to stay

China Daily | Updated: 2009-07-16 08:08

MANCHESTER: Argentina striker Carlos Tevez signed for Manchester City on Tuesday and used his first news conference at the big-spending Premier League club to criticize Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson.

The 25-year-old, who spent two years at Old Trafford under a lease agreement, said Ferguson had not done enough to persuade him to stay at the champions.

City paid a reported 25.5 million pounds ($41.48 million) for Tevez whose "economic rights" were owned by agent Kia Joorabchian.
