SEOUL: The United States is open to talks on the possibility of the Republic of Korea (ROK) developing ballistic missiles capable of striking all of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), a ROK Defense Ministry official said yesterday.
A senior general at the US command in Seoul told deputies to ROK lawmakers last week that the allies can discuss the revision of a 2001 accord barring Seoul from developing missiles with a range of more than 300 km, the official said.
The US military command in Seoul said it could not immediately confirm the remarks.
