Ginger on meeting's menu

More than 120 biologists and botanists from 14 countries and regions gathered here yesterday to attend the 5th International Symposium on the Family Zingiberaceae (Ginger). The four-day symposium will highlight recent research into ginger family plants. Participants will present 95 abstracts of their recent works. The symposium will also contribute to biodiversity conservation, said Chen Jin, director of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, China's leading institute for research and conservation of tropical plants.
