Xiyi graduates attending a graduation ceremony in front of the library building. The university is known for the high employment rate of its graduates. |
Just 22 years ago a tiny educational establishment opened the doors of its one classroom and welcomed in its first students. Back then it was run on a shoestring and was one of the few academic bodies to receive no State funding. Today it has assets of more than 1 billion yuan, 40,000 enrolled students and an enviable track record of 90 percent average graduate employment per annum.
