Exam star's parents axed

Parents of a top scorer at the national college entrance examination in Chongqing were sacked for using their positions in the government to change their son's ethnic status for brownie points.

He Chuanyang, from the Nankai middle school, scored 659, the highest in the municipality and earned him a position in the prestigious Peking University in Beijing. Now, however, he might not be admitted in the college.
