Appraisal system reform

Top officials from the Communist Party of China (CPC) met yesterday to discuss reform of the appraisal system for officials on the basis of merit and transparency.

In a meeting of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, presided over by Hu Jintao, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, members adopted a plan which included instructions on setting up an appraisal system for officials.
