Taj brings Indian majesty to China

India's luxurious hotel will finally debut on the Chinese mainland next year, bringing a touch more Oriental majesty to Beijing.

Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, one of Asia's largest hotel groups, will set up shop near the landmark Temple of Heaven heritage site in Beijing, becoming the first major Indian hospitality business to entertain the Chinese tourism market.

"Our plan is to grow Taj into a global brand, but in order to do so, we first need to maintain our dominance in India," said Ajoy Misra, vice president of the hotel's sales and marketing.
