Powering kungfu
The recent launch of a new kungfu website and magazine hopes to revive a market from which specialized kungfu magazines have all but disappeared. In the 1980s, some of these magazines sold as many as 2 million copies each. But now the best kungfu magazine sells just some 20,000 copies.
The Global Kungfu magazine, and Global Kungfu website (www.qqgfw.com), will focus on both marital arts entertainment stars and Chinese martial art masters, as well as on how to learn Chinese kungfu. According to Fu Biao, president of the Beijing Shaolin Martial Art School, and CEO of Global Kungfu Science &Technologies Group, the website will have plenty of photographs.
