'Fruitful' summits leave Hu upbeat

MOSCOW: President Hu Jintao used fruitful to describe summits of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRIC countries and his state visit to Russia.

Speaking to the press before leaving Moscow yesterday morning, Hu spoke of the consensus among leaders from the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) during their first meeting since the term 'BRIC' was coined eight years ago.

Hu said the four nations promised to continue measures to stimulate their economies, strive to lead the world in achieving growth and work to emerge strongly from the recession.
