The Shisanling (Ming Tombs) Culture and Tourism Festival at the Ming Tombs Scenic Spot, from June 12 to July 31, will celebrate the 600th anniversary of the construction of the Changling Tomb, the area's largest and best preserved, so far.
Built on a south-facing slope, Changling was the tomb of the third Ming Emperor Yongle (reigned 1402-24) and Empress Xu, who died in 1407.
Of the many exhibitions that will be held during the festival, a highlight is the display of cultural relics associated with Emperor Yongle. Visitors will have the rare opportunity to see paintings, jewelries, ceramics and some clothes of the imperial family.
