DETROIT, Michigan: Eight months after it began, the National Hockey League quest for the Stanley Cup has come down to a one-game showdown between reigning champion Detroit and Pittsburgh's rising young stars.
The Red Wings, who have outscored Pittsburgh 11-2 in Detroit in three home victories during the best-ofseven championship series, lost all three games at Pittsburgh but have a home-ice edge in Friday's matchup at Joe Louis Arena.
"We're in a one game winner takes all," Red Wings veteran Kris Draper said. "We're playing it in our building. We're going to use everything we can in Detroit in Joe Louis to our advantage, and be ready to go drop of the puck."
