"A beautiful piece of jewelry is like a miniature work of art. It makes a statement about who a person is," says Keturah Mason, a Hong Kong jewelry designer.

Mason graduated in London as a jewelry designer, manufacturer and pearl stringer.

She believes that in recent years there has been an increased demand in China for original, high-quality jewelry that features a personal touch and stands out from mass-produced pieces.
