The Song and Dance Ensemble of the General Political Department of the PLA will next week stage the grand musical epic The East is Red. Having first been shown in 1964, the performance mixes the art of traditional dance and song from different regions around the country. Directed by conductor Li Yuning, the latest show will represent the glorious scenes as a gift to the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China.
