Gay week disrupted

The municipal commercial bureau yesterday disrupted Shanghai's Gay Pride Week forcing organizers to change plans at the last minute.

Organizers were forced to cancel a film screening at a local bar after being told they were "not allowed to show films at private properties" and would face consequences in doing so. Friday's film screening will be scheduled at another location, organizers said. Yesterday was the fourth day of the week-long Shanghai gay pride festival, which concludes on June 14.
