Dancer realizes dream

Liu Yan, who fell off a 3m-high platform during a rehearsal of the Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony last year and became paralyzed, has been selected as image ambassador of "Chinese Dance Circle's Loving Heart". The project's aim is to give children from impoverished families a chance to study dance.

Sponsored by the Chinese Dancers' Association, Beijing Baiwu Dance Culture Company and Beijing Dance Media Company, it will organize a summer camp, and offer a stipend, for dance students from impoverished urban, rural and migrant workers' families, as well as for orphaned and disabled children.
