Baseball gets shot in arm

New York-based businessman Huang Jianhua was in shock when he saw how people around him reacted to China's upset victory against Chinese Taipei in the preliminaries of last year's Olympic baseball tournament.

At the time, he was on a business tour of Taiwan and watched the game on TV with local people, to whom their team's defeat was a bombshell that reduced many to tears.

On TV, members of the mainland squad also cried tears of joy.
