Former forestry official gets eight years in prison
A former forestry official in Jiaxian county, Shaanxi province, was sentenced to eight years in prison after he was convicted of accepting 160,000 yuan ($23,426) in bribes.
Wu Jie encouraged others to make false reports about the size of a farmland and forest area. Wu used the false figures to cheat and control state subsidies of the land.
