Petitions get voice in new course

A new undergraduate law program focusing on petitions will open this year in Shenyang University, Liaoning province, sources with the university said.

The new program is mainly in response to increasing demand for professionals who can handle petitions from the public, Yang Kailai, director of the university's communication department said.

Shenyang Bureau of Letters and Calls is understaffed, he said.
