Animated characters

While movies with real actors seem to crank out familiar stories, today's animated films feel more original and creative. So does the cartoon music.

Three young indie, punk and rock bands from Beijing - Candy Monster, Steely Heart, and The Scoff - will present an animation fest tonight.

Fifteen of the most creative and entertaining music videos produced in Britain will also be presented. The Futerheads' The Beginning of the Twist is a big technical achievement - it's a video within a video and something of a joke on the art of video making. The band is seen performing on a film set but also becoming fixed within the director's story, and then being put in a series of exciting locations.
