As the globe celebrates the 38th World Environment Day today, Chinese citizens are joining in on efforts to reach a new deal at the crucial climate change convention meeting in Copenhagen, which is just 180 days away.
At a Holiland bakery chain store in eastern Beijing, residents will join the global 'seal the deal' campaign, an initiative led by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, said Wang Zhijia, a special coordinator at the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
The campaign seeks to encourage governments across the world to successfully conclude a fair, balanced and effective agreement on climate change when they meet in the Danish capital in December.
