Pick-me-up is coke-free

The country's top quality watchdog said yesterday that Red Bull drinks on the mainland have, so far, tested free from cocaine after traces of the drug was found in cans of Red Bull in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Quality control officers in Beijing and Hubei, where two Red Bull companies are based, tested 14 batches of Red Bull drink, but found no cocaine, the statement from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said. The testing of products from a third Red Bull factory on the Chinese mainland, which is based in Hainan, is still in process.
