Party chief trial

A former Communist Party chief of a city in east China's Anhui province stood trial yesterday on bribery charges.

Prosecutors accused Zhou Guangquan of accepting bribes worth 4.1 million yuan from more than 30 people while he was secretary of the Communist Party of China Chaohu city committee between 2000 and 2004. The trial is taking place at Anqing City Intermediate People's Court.
