Nine villagers dead as high-speed train slams into van

Nine people are dead, several are injured and one person is fighting for life after a collision between a bus and a train in Tianmen city, Hubei province on Tuesday.

The accident happened at 6:18 pm when a high-speed train struck a minivan transporting agricultural goods at an unmanned intersection, the information office in Tianmen said in a statement.

The nine dead were among the five men and 13 women onboard the minivan. No casualties were reported on the train.
