Cambridge shoe hurler acquitted

LONDON: A protester who threw a shoe at Premier Wen Jiabao during a lecture at Cambridge University in February has been cleared of any offense, the UK's Press Association reported last night. The judge said there was insufficient evidence to prove that Martin Jahnke behaved in a way likely to cause harassment or alarm. Judge Ken Sheraton told Jahnke, a German, that the not-guilty verdict should not be seen as an indication that the court condoned his behavior.
