Listings: Chengdu

A large-scale production of Monkey King, adapted from a Ming Dynasty novel Journey to the West, combines puppetry and magic with acrobatics, martial arts, singing and dancing. High-tech props promise a feast of stage effects. As the main figure of the novel, Monkey King is the incarnation of justice, humor, wisdom and bravery. The show is a work of accomplished directors Yi Liming and Shi Xuehai.
