Audition call for performers

Performers around the world are encouraged to come out and showcase their culture through artistic expression at next year's Shanghai Expo.

Shanghai Expo organizers unveiled plans earlier this week for the initial public solicitation of cultural and artistic performances for the 2010 expo. Selected public performers will present at various venues throughout the expo site.

Talented artists wanting to perform at the expo garden during the event are welcome to submit applications from June 1 to August 31. Results will be announced in late November. Hu Jinjun, deputy director general of Shanghai's World Expo Coordination Bureau, explained the vision behind these performances.
