No rave reviews for China's first star-studded rave

China's first electronic music festival was a celebrity-studded affair but it didn't last as long as expected. Rocker Cui Jian, singer Jiang Xin and actor Song Ning, among others, joined an estimated 8,000 ravers at Beijing's 798 on Saturday. It was all peace and love until 11 pm, when the plug was pulled because of "security concerns".
Held outside, the party was supposed to transfer to a warehouse and carry on until 4 am. Instead, security officers ringed the stage and called on the crowd to disperse. A large contingent of Italians expressed their discontent with a chant that can't be repeated in a family paper, while some locals half-heartedly called for ticket refunds.

Organizers said reasons given for the premature conclusion were some 100 complaints about noise, and safety issues. I saw an ambulance take away a partygoer who was unconscious, or doing a good impression, but there were no media, police or organizer reports of any such "incidents".
